The Malmundarium, a legacy of the past that began in 648, when the Benedictine monk Remacle and some of his brothers settled down in a wild country. The monastery of Malmedy and that of Stavelot went on to form an abbey principality. Today, the monastery, renamed the Malmundarium, has completed its transformation into a major tourist attraction. Two levels, 3,000 m², an audio-guide for exploring the region’s history (historium, cathedral treasure), folklore (carnival workshop) and former industries (leather and paper workshops). Welcome café – cake/coffee on request. Room with catering service on request. The Malmundarium is 100 m away from the town centre.
