The world’s smallest city

A key tourist site in Wallonia, Durbuy has a historic center with an alluring charm and offers a thousand and one leisure ideas. On the border of three provinces and at the gateway to the Ardennes, Durbuy borders the Ourthe and is packed with attractions.

Small but so popular!

Although it is nicknamed "the smallest city in the world", with only 400 inhabitants in its old center, it is nonetheless very popular and perhaps the most in-demand destination in Belgium.

You will inevitably meet tourists of all nationalities as you walk through the charming and typical streets and art galleries of this little jewel of the Middle Ages.

Majestic sites nearby

Nature lovers will love strolling around the largest topiary garden in Europe with its unique collection of box trees. This garden has 39 beds and 250 sculpted plants, with some plants being over 120 years old! This park, on the banks of the Ourthe, offers an exceptional view of Durbuy castle.

Still walking, but more fun this time, you will love the Barvaux-sur-Ourthe maze! Find the way out of this giant 11-acre corn maze by solving puzzles performed by actors.  Visit this year when the theme is the Little Prince, the famous hero of Saint-Exupéry.

In Weris, discover surreal dolmens and menhirs, which have been anchored on site for about five millennia and have a unique alignment in Belgium.

Strong emotions on offer

If you are looking for sporting activities of all types, there will be something for everyone in Durbuy: from an adventure park, to kayaking, to infinite hiking trails for walkers and mountain bikers, you will find something to suit you!
