Set out to encounter Ardenne, a land of inspiration, history and legends, of simple pleasures and a return to the origins...
The French Ardennes, the Place Ducale and Sedan Castle
This territory brings together, on the one hand, the French Ardenne and the unmissable town of Arthur Rimbaud, Charleville-Mézières, which is centred around an architectural jewel from the 17th century, the Place Ducale. A short distance away, Sedan and its medieval fortress, the biggest in Europe, can be visited by day, and by torchlight at night!
The Luxemburg Ardennes immerse you in the Middle Ages
On the other hand, this destination also comprises the Luxembourg Ardennes, which are presided over by Vianden Castle, one of the most beautiful feudal residences from the Romanesque and Gothic periods in Europe. This region is also home to Clervaux, a picturesque village comprising the abbey of Saint Maurice and Saint Maur and Clervaux Castle. This latter hosts the famous photo exhibition “The Family of Man”, which is listed in the UNESCO Memory of the World register.
The Belgian Ardennes and its principal towns and cities such as Durbuy, Namur, Liège and Spa
And finally we note the Belgian Ardennes, with the famous Orval Abbey in Belgian Luxembourg, the only place where “Petite Orval” beer can be sampled; Namur and its Citadel, an emblematic Meuse Valley site; Liège, a true cultural and cosmopolitan metropolis, renowned for its warm welcome, and finally Spa, which is home to the world’s oldest casino and most attractive automobile circuit at Spa-Francorchamps.
